Donations for GSA Hydrogeology Division Student Reception

GSA Hydrogeology Division

Every year at GSA Connects, the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America, the Hydrogeology Division hosts a reception for its student members. The reception provides an excellent opportunity for students to interact with established researchers and professionals and develop a sense of professional connection to the discipline and our division.  One of the most exciting events at the reception is a hydrogeology trivia contest between teams of students.  Prizes for the trivia contest include donated books, software, swag (hats, t-shirts, etc), and gift certificates for analytical services.  We typically host over 100 graduate and undergraduate students with career aspirations in hydrogeology and environmental geosciences at the reception, and our goal is for no student to go home without a prize. This year’s annual GSA meeting is September 22-25 in Anaheim, California. Donors are recognized at the GSA meeting during the Division Awards Ceremony as well as at the student reception itself.  We also acknowledge donors in our division newsletter.  We recognize that hydrogeology is an international field, and many of the Division’s student members are international students.  Therefore, we are reaching out to give professionals and businesses in the international hydrogeology community an opportunity to donate prizes in support of this year’s reception.  If you are interested in donating to the student reception, please reach out to Tara Root at hydrogeology.division.GSA@gmail.com.
